Preeclampsia affects up to 8% of all pregnancies in the United States and is a leading cause of maternal and infant illness and death.  This Care Kit provides the education and tools to help  at-risk woman “stand up” and manage preventative measures “before the baby comes.”  This includes close monitoring and management of blood pressure and weight, as well as when to coordinate care with their physicians and specialists.  A blood pressure monitor, weight scale, and log book help them collaborate with their care team to keep preeclampsia and other at-risk prenatal factors in check.
